Admission criteria
Want to enroll in the track Molecular Life Sciences at HAN? There are 3 main admission requirements. These are your prior education, your lab research experience and English fluency. In addition, you will need an internship placement. Program staff can help you in finding one.
Molecular & Cell Biology
Do you feel you lack certain knowledge to start this master? Then take our self-study course in Molecular & Cell Biology. This English-taught course gives you important knowledge and understanding needed for the Master in Applied Molecular Sciences (track Molecular Life Sciences). It does not replace practical experience you might still miss to start with the masters course. You'll follow a predefined study guide that takes you through the material on a week-by-week basis. You'll also participate in some online introduction and Q&A sessions together with lecturers and fellow students.

Tuition Fees
Your tuition fee depends on your nationality. And whether you already earned a master degree in the Netherlands. Nationalities within the European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA) generally pay a lower tuition fee. The table below shows this as EU/EEA. This includes all EU countries plus Norway, Lichtenstein, Iceland and Switzerland. Students from Suriname also pay this lower fee.

Financial guarantee (non-EU/EEA)
Studying in the Netherlands requires careful financial planning. If you are a Non-EU student, a financial check is always part of the admission process.
Please be aware that the average annual cost is more than €20,000. This includes tuition fees, mandatory payments to the Dutch Immigration Service (IND), and living expenses such as housing.
Funding opportunities are limited. The HAN offers a small number of scholarships, but these are available to a limited group of students and do not fully cover the total costs. The maximum scholarship amount is €5,000.
We strongly advise you to review your financial situation in advance, so you can start your studies well prepared and without surprises.
HAN Scholarships

The HAN Orange Tulip Scholarship and the Holland Scholarship. They’re offered in collaboration with the Dutch Ministry of Education and Science.
