Short course — NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance)

The program starts 6 October 2026
In this course you learn to understand and interpret nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra. You also learn to apply the appropriate NMR technique in different situations.

In brief
What do you learn?
This course explores the relationship between theory and the results observed in NMR spectra, helping you get more out of your spectra. The course also provides insight into the question: What can I find out using different NMR techniques, and how? You will put theory into practice through assignments during the course. The focus is on high‑field FT‑NMR in solution for small organic molecules (approx. 500 Daltons).

Who is this course for?
This course is intended for novice NMR users, as well as those with a little more experience who wish to expand their knowledge. It is also ideally suited to synthetic and analytical chemists who work with, or would like to work with, NMR.
