why the design of experiments course
The program starts19 November 2026

Part-time Short course
The Design of Experiments (DoE) course is a basic introduction to the Design of Experiments methodology. Experimental designs based on the DoE method make your experimental procedure clear, compact, and statistically sound.
During the course:
- You will expand your knowledge with the Design of Experiments methodology
- You learn the basic principles of this experimentation method
- You learn how to use the software to get results faster and more efficiently
- You will create your own experimental design which you can take back to your workplace

During the Design of Experiments course, you gain basic skills in organizing, preparing, conducting and analyzing experiments. You build a statistical foundation to start experimenting on your own. Theory is combined with the use of Design Expert statistical software.
Do you already have experience with other software? No problem. This course is still highly suitable as it explains the principles of DoE rather than just training you on the software.
Topics
The course covers the following topics:
Theoretical preparation – self study using knowledge clips
- Theoretical background, why DoE?
- Statistical background
Day 1
- Q&A for questions about self study/preparation
- Demonstration in software program Design Expert
- Analysis and interpretation of results
- Design of experiment and use of different models (factorial design, response surface model (box benkhen) & mixture design)
- Working on assignments yourself (from scientific articles)
Day 2
- Working on assignments yourself (from scientific articles)
- Opportunity to present own cases and work on these
Program details
Once you're finished...
... You have learned the basic concepts, which model to use when, and how to use the software. You will also create your own experimental design which you can take back to your workplace.
