What can you expect?

To encourage diverse perspectives and foster international cooperation, the World Café provides a dynamic setting where business professionals, policymakers, researchers, and other key stakeholders engage in open, structured dialogue. The round-table discussions, informed by insights from the research team and the preceding panel, will provide participants with an understanding of the latest trends and the current position of the Netherlands within the agri-food industry. Building on this foundation, participants will explore how the Netherlands can further strengthen its position, how it can support other countries in enhancing theirs, and what role their own organizations can play in contributing to these shared ambitions.

WORLD CAFE TOPICS

Economic aspects

This topic will delve into the competitiveness, productivity, and resilience of the Dutch agrifood sector, helping businesses monitor market shifts, input costs, and trade performance. This enables companies to anticipate risks, adapt to global trends, and maintain leadership sustainable and profitable food production.

Environmental aspects

This topic addresses environmental aspects such as water, which plays a vital role in the Dutch agri-food sector. Dutch freshwater resources are under pressure from farming and climate change, making water-saving and climate-smart solutions essential for future resilience.

Health-related aspects

For this topic, we explore how food-related health concerns persist despite efforts to improve diets. By tracking indicators such as obesity rates and diet composition, we open up a discussion on public health and explore how agrifood companies can contribute to a healthier society.

Social aspects

The way our food is produced is directly linked to social conditions, such as work accidents and fair wages. Exploring relevant indicators related to a healthy agrifood system is not only important for the quality of our food and the land, but also for the lives of the people who have to work the land.

Startup Framework by OostNL

OostNL's Startup Framework helps inspire startups from idea to market launch. We explore why this approach strengthens focus and collaboration between partners to accelerate innovation in the region.
