The Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Program from the School of Built Environment will take place from May 18 to 23, 2025! Together with our partners we provide workshops and lectures on topics related to the built environment, supplemented with social events. Meet and collaborate with students from other countries who study the same as you.

Are you a student or lecturer in the field of Built Environment?
Join us for the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Program (International Week Built Environment)! We are excited to welcome you to our School of Built Environment in Arnhem, the Netherlands.

Our school and programs are committed to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, so this International Week will feature a variety of topics centered around sustainability. You can look forward to engaging lectures, interactive workshops, and enriching excursions.

The International Week offers a wide variety of activities, providing plenty to discover! Students from all over the world come together to meet, learn, collaborate, and have fun!

Program

Monday, May 19

​Day 1 starts with a welcome and introduction, followed by sessions on global citizenship, Dutch language basics, and smart grids. After lunch, students explore international opportunities and join a campus tour. The day ends with informal networking at the BE-Global Café.

Tuesday, May 20

Day 2 features a workshop on urban climate change and heat stress, followed by a group project on planning a railroad underpass. The day concludes with City Escape Arnhem: a city-wide puzzle adventure with drinks and snacks.

Wednesday, May 21

Day 3 of the International Week Built Environment 2025 features an unforgettable excursion! Discover the impressive Oosterschelde Storm Surge Barrier, a vital part of the Netherlands’ Delta Works, and learn how innovative engineering protects the country from devastating floods. A must-see experience!

Thursday, May 22

Day 4 begins with a lecture on designing self-sufficient tiny houses, followed by continued work on the climate change project. In the afternoon, a keynote speaker presents, and students conclude their climate change workshop with presentations. The day ends with a culinary walk for staff and a bbq for students.

Friday, May 23

Day 5 wraps up the week with a bike tour to Alliander, exploring Dutch living and sustainability projects. After lunch, participants cycle to the Open Air Museum in Arnhem to experience Dutch history and culture, concluding the International Week Built Environment 2025.

Exchange Courses and Internships

HAN University of Applied Sciences offers loads of professional programs in a wide range of fields. Students can choose from 63 bachelor programs, 19 master programs and numerous exchange programs. All of which combine a solid theoretical basis with practical application in the field. So they’re well positioned to enter the job market as soon as they graduate. HAN offers 5 English-taught bachelor programs and 2 English-taught master programs within the field of Engineering & Life Sciences. We have around 1,000 students from 30 different countries. And our main objective is to enhance employability and internationalization.
