Want to apply for the online course in Molecular & Cell Biology? On this page you can find some practical information.
The online course is taught entirely in English, so you need to be fluent in English.
What level do you need?
At least B2 (CEFR: Common European Framework of Reference). This equivalent to IELTS 6.0 and TOEFL iBT 80.It is your own responsibility to check whether your English level is sufficient for taking the course.
During the course you’ll have access to an online learning environment where you can find all the learning materials (like YouTube videos, PowerPoints presentations, knowledge clips, etc.). There you will also find a structured study guide that outlines the subjects covered and when to do the relevant assignments. You also receive access to 2 textbooks:
- Alberts, B – Molecular Biology of the Cell (6th edition)
- Lehninger – Principles of Biochemistry (6th edition)
You will complete several assignments during this course. At the end of the course you will present your final assignment: a project proposal.
After finishing this online course you will have knowledge and understanding of the principles in molecular and cell biology. You’ll also be able to apply these principles to answer fundamental research questions.
If you pass the final assignment, you'll receive an HAN certificate. If you fail the final assignment, you'll receive a certificate of participation.The online Molecular & Cell Biology course is also a perfect foundation for the Master in Molecular Life Sciences.
