Data Protection Authority imposes fine on HAN
In September 2021, HAN was hacked, resulting in a data breach. HAN immediately reported this to the Dutch Data Protection Authority; on 17 December 2025, the Data Protection Authority announced the amount of the fine.

HAN has officially joined the international organization Open Education Global (OEGlobal). HAN sees open sharing and (re)use of digital educational resources as an important condition for achieving future-oriented and accessible education. The collaboration with OEGlobal strengthens us in this.
