International Week Built Environment
From 8 to 12 May 2023 it's International Week! Together with our partners, we give workshops and lectures on topics related to the built environment, complimented with social events. Get to know students from other countries who follow the same study as you.
TOGETHER WE BUILD THE FUTURE
May 8 to 12, 2023
This year, the International Week Built Environment will take place in combination with the International Conference CITC. We will welcome students and colleagues from all around the world to our School of Built Environment in Arnhem, the Netherlands. Our school and programs endorse the UN Sustainable Development Goals, so the International Week program will include many topics related to sustainability.
The program is not yet finalized. There will be plenty events for Architecture and Civil Engineering.
With many different activities there is a lot to discover in the International Week. Students from all over the world meet, learn, work and have fun together!
Monday, May 8
Frank Spuij, dean of the School of Built Environment, opens the International Week Built Environment 2023 and then we immediately start with a very interesting lecture about Smart Grids.
Tuesday, May 9
Workshops, presentations, key-note speaker; we have it all today. Join these interesting parts from construction engineering, earthquake resistant housing to Japan and sustainable river management.
Wednesday, May 10
Yesterday we started with COIL Japan and today we continue with part II. But first there is a workshop in which we will design the ultimate marina layout.
Thursday, May 11
Today we leave Arnhem early to visit the Oosterscheldekering in the southwest of the Netherlands.This is the largest of the Delta Works, a series of dams and storm surge barriers, designed to protect the Netherlands.
Friday, May 12
On this last day we start with a joint lunch. Then we cycle to the Open Air Museum in Arnhem where we spend the afternoon and where we will also close the International Week.

Exchange Courses and Internships
HAN University of Applied Sciences offers loads of professional programs in a wide range of fields. Students can choose from 63 bachelor programs, 19 master programs and numerous exchange programs. All of which combine a solid theoretical basis with practical application in the field. So they’re well positioned to enter the job market as soon as they graduate. HAN offers 5 English-taught bachelor programs and 2 English-taught master programs within the field of Engineering & Life Sciences. We have around 1,000 students from 30 different countries. And our main objective is to enhance employability and internationalization.
