DAY 4 OF THE INTERNATIONAL WEEK BUILT ENVIRONMENT

Day 4 begins with a lecture on tiny houses and tiny living, followed by continued work on the climate change project. In the afternoon, a keynote speaker presents, and students conclude their climate change workshop with presentations. The day ends with social events: a culinary walk for staff and a bbq for students organized by Trifonius.
Tiny Houses and everything that comes with it
Marjolein Jonker is the leading expert on Tiny Houses in the Netherlands. In May 2016, she became the first legal Tiny House resident in the country, living off-grid in Alkmaar. Now, she resides in a new Tiny House in Olstergaard, Olst. She inspires thousands through her talks, writing, and her blog, Marjolein in het klein. She founded the Tiny House Netherlands foundation and the TinyFindy platform. Her book, Tiny Houses: From Dream to Reality, published in October 2023, shares her extensive knowledge on tiny living.

Climate Change in Urban Areas (3/3)
Part 3 of the Workshop with Frank Kersten
2:30 pm - 3:30 pm: students work on their project
3:30 pm - 5 pm: presentations
This morning builds on Tuesday’s session about climate change and its impact on urban quality of life. Students will present the results of the assignments they received last Tuesday, focusing on the effects of global warming on the quality of life in Valencia. Each group will have five minutes to present their ideas, followed by a brief Q&A. Don’t miss this opportunity to hear the students’ innovative solutions for combating heat stress in the city!

BBQ
Social Event organised by study association Trifonius
The study association Trifonius is organizing a BBQ for the visiting students. Students from Architecture and Civil Engineering are also welcome to sign up. For those who are interested: after the BBQ, we'll be going out in Arnhem for a fun night (at your own expense).

Social Event
We will organize a culinary walk through the beautiful city of Arnhem. This is a great way to experience the food and culture of a city. We will walk to different restaurants to sample the local cuisine, and learn more about the Arnhem’s culinary history.
