DAY 1 OF THE INTERNATIONAL WEEK BUILT ENVIRONMENT

Day 1 starts with a welcome and introduction, followed by sessions on global citizenship, Dutch language basics, and smart grids. After lunch, students explore international opportunities and join a campus tour. The day ends with informal networking at the BE-Global Café.

Mrs. Aly Smelt, member of the Executive Board of HAN University of Applied Sciences, will open the Erasmus+ Blended Intensive Program (International Week Built Environment).

Having the competences to work amid diversity to handle cross-cultural situations is of growing importance no matter if you work in an international law firm or in constructions. The first strategic goal of the HAN is Global Citizenship get in dialog with the expert and learn more about this unique approach and open up your horizon.

Social Dutch Training with Annika Treiber
Want to learn more about the Dutch culture and learn how to speak Dutch? We omit the grammar but isn't it nice to join conversations and maybe even answer in Dutch? This course is for absolute beginners. You learn some basic Dutch in only 45 minutes.

This campus tour introduces you to the various HAN buildings. Handy, because then you know where you are expected for the rest of the week, where the restrooms are and where you get your coffee and lunch.

Lecture
Solar energy. Wind energy. Examples of sustainably generated energy. This renewable energy is generated in increasing quantities. The share of households that generate their own energy is increasing. But what does this mean for the existing network? What problems do you run into and how can you solve them smartly? It's alle explained in this lecture "The Smart Grids Concept".
