The 2025-2026 academic year begins on 1 September. There are 2 semesters: one of 19 and one of 20 weeks. 

• Semester 1: 1 September 2025 to 1 February 2026

During holidays there are no lectures. Sometimes there are other activities, such as work weeks, presentations or resits. See also the timetable for your degree program on Insite for more information.

The holiday weeks are based on the guidelines of the Ministery of Education, Culture and Science for the South region, with the exception of the summer holiday.

The 2026-2027 academic year begins on 31 August. The academic year consists of 42 lecture weeks, divided into 4 terms and 2 semesters. Between the 2 semesters is a HAN week, a transition wqeek without lectures or exams.

Semester 1

• Term 1: 31 August 2026 t/m 8 November 2026
• Term 2: 9 November 2026 t/m 24 January 2027

Semester 2

• Term 3: 1 February 2027 t/m 11 April 2027
• Term 4: 12 April 2027 t/m 4 July 2027

After term 4 there are possible resits, the conclusion of the academic year, summer holidays, start-up week and introduction week.
