Applied Research
We are pleased to share the research projects currently being carried out within the Drug Discovery research group. Together with students and partners from industry, we conduct applied research that contributes to better health and innovation in drug development.
Projects
The Drug Discovery & Development process can be divided into two phases. First, there is the discovery phase, consisting of target discovery, lead finding, and lead optimization. This is followed by the development phase. Our research group focuses particularly on projects in the first phase.

Opportunities for collaboration
We are keen to apply our multidisciplinary approach to practical research projects with businesses and other knowledge institutions. We involve ‘our’ students in these projects so that they learn to view issues from different perspectives and tackle them as part of a team. There are various ways in which we can collaborate:
- Subsidy projects
- Contract research
- Facility sharing
- For students: graduations and internships
