- Assignment: calculate the difference in using AL in stead of CU in terms of system resistance and applicability. Can a CPO use this cheaper alternative and under what conditions?
Allego is a leading charge point operator (CPO), dedicated to advancing the transition to sustainable mobility. To fast forward the transition towards sustainable mobility, we believe that anyone with an electric vehicle (EV) should be able to charge whenever and wherever they need it. We are offering exciting internship opportunities for HAN students who are passionate about innovation and the electric vehicle sector and want to contribute concretely to clean air.
At Allego, we focus on testing and optimizing EV chargers to ensure they meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and reliability. As part of this internship, you will have the chance to work on various projects that explore different aspects of our charging technology, including software testing, automation, and integration.
One of the areas you could be involved in is:
(Vehicle information to prevent charging issues). In this role, you will work with our technical team to validate charging session issues according to specific vehicle types. This will involve analyzing, developing, and communication on methods to prohibit vehicles to introduce issues whilst charging.
This helps to improve the charging experience. You have the opportunity to test with actual electric vehicles on our chargers, work together with engineers and engage with OEMs on their EVs.
What we can promise is that as an intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience with the latest technologies in the electric mobility space and contribute to the development of solutions that help simplify EV charging. Whether you’re interested in software engineering, testing, or the broader field of electric vehicle infrastructure, this internship provides an excellent opportunity to apply your skills in a dynamic and rapidly growing industry.
In the end we strongly believe in self motivation, incase you have a great topic that you want to work on and that adds value for Allego we are open to discuss. See our website for inspiration: www.allego.eu.

More info: Research Center Balanced Energy Systems
Contact us: Balanced.Energy.Systems@han.nlThe Research Center Balanced Energy Systems contributes to the large and complex task of transitioning to sustainable energy by developing and validating practical solutions to keep the energy system in balance. Currently there are two main program lines: Flexible Energy Solution and Engineering Hydrogen Systems
Career prospects
At the Research Center Balanced Energy Systems you can work on technology developments in the field of energy conversion and storage, their application in new use cases and the integration with existing energy infrastructure. You will collaborate in a dedicated team with researchers, industry partners and other students, making use of modelling tools and experimental facilities in hydrogen, power and mobility lab, contributing to the validation and implementation of the energy technologies that we need for the energy transition.Internship/graduation oppertunities
Every semester we are looking for several bachelor and master internship and thesis students for the applied research projects in our two program lines.
In Flexible Energy Solutions the focus is on the development, modelling and validation of (hybrid) energy management systems for (micro)grids. Feasibility studies are being carried out for all kinds of scenarios based on 'use cases' and with the use of its own test and development facilities. The approach is multimodal (electricity, heat and hydrogen) and transdisciplinary (technical, economic, social and legal).
In Engineering Hydrogen Systems the focus is on engineering issues in hydrogen systems, such as testing and integrating new components and optimizing control in relation to efficiency and service life. In addition, techno-economic analyses of decentralized hydrogen applications are also carried out. Safety and laws and regulations always play an important role in this.
