International Outreach & Engagement Assistant

As an International Student Outreach & Engagement Assistant, you’ll help us connect with international students and alumni and involve them in our international recruitment activities. You’ll help us answer the burning questions international students have when deciding where to study, from a student point of view. You might find an alumnus who can share what it was like to find a job after graduation, talk to students about their housing experiences, help organize a student feedback session or find students who want to join an Online Open Day. You’ll also help us understand the questions and concerns international students have, so we can improve the information we provide to future students.

The tasks below give you an idea of what you could work on. What you focus on will vary depending on the team’s priorities and what is needed at that time.

Find and connect with students and alumni

• Identify and approach students and alumni for testimonials, interviews and other opportunities.
• Gather their experiences on topics such as student life, housing, internships and careers after graduation.
• Collect the necessary information and materials and coordinate with the team on where their stories can be used. Depending on your skills, you may also help turn these into draft content.

Gather student insights

• Talk to international students about their experiences, questions and needs.
• Help organize sessions where students can share their experiences and feedback.
• Identify recurring questions, concerns and information gaps and share these with the team.

Help strengthen our online reputation

• Monitor relevant review platforms and recurring themes.
• Reach out to students and alumni who may be willing to share an honest review.
• Help coordinate and keep track of review outreach.

Support incoming international students

• Help moderate and support an online community for incoming international students.
• Share practical information and answer questions based on your own experience.
• Direct students to the right HAN information or support.
• Flag recurring questions and concerns to the team.

Support the Agent Toolbox

• Gather relevant student stories and materials.
• Check existing content and identify missing or outdated information.
• Help organize and update materials for international recruitment agents.

Connect students with recruitment activities

• Find and coordinate students for Instagram Lives, Online Open Days, student takeovers, photo and video shoots, webinars, interviews and other recruitment activities.
• Prepare students and help organize practical arrangements.

• Experience in international marketing, recruitment, student engagement and communication.
• The chance to work closely with the International Marketing & Recruitment team.

• A hybrid working environment.
• 8 hours per week.
• €16.40 per hour.
• A 1-year contract, with the possibility of extension.

We are looking for an international HAN student in their second year or above who:

• Is curious about the international student experience and motivated to help future students.
• Is comfortable reaching out to students and alumni by email, DM or in person.
• Is organized and good at keeping track of people, stories and activities.
• Is proactive and takes initiative.
• Has an eye for a good story.
• Can communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Can work independently but knows when to involve colleagues.
• Can commit to 8 hours per week.

You don't need to be an experienced content creator. Your main focus will be on finding interesting stories, gathering information and reaching out to students and alumni. Depending on your skills and interests, you may also turn the information you collect into a first draft or template for the team to develop further.
