Engineering Systems: Lean Engineering
The Lean Engineering track within the Master in Engineering Systems will no longer be offered as of September 2022. Current students can complete their program and earn their master degree (MSc). A new track, Smart Manufacturing, will be offered from September 2023.

Program: What do you learn?
You learn all about Lean principles and methods. More importantly: how to apply them. In the design, control and improvement of manufacturing processes and products. You also learn to model and validate systems with multiple inputs and outputs. And to analyze systems and apply suitable control strategies.
Careers: What can you do with this master of science?
As a Lean engineer, your skills will be in high demand. Industrial companies are always looking for well-trained professionals in Lean engineering. In fact, this master is part of the training program at several companies. And our industry contacts often have openings for our graduates. With your broad skill set, you could work in either a technical or managerial position.
The Dutch way of learning : Education at HAN and in the Netherlands

Lean Engineering is a track within the Master in Engineering Systems. Other tracks in the Master in Engineering Systems are: Sustainable Energy, Automotive Systems, Control Systems, Embedded Systems and Smart Manufacturing (available from September 2023).
Study in part-time?
Want to study in part-time? Follow the modules at your own pace? You can if you are from the EU/EEA or have a valid residence permit for the Netherlands. You also need to be working in the field. The part-time program takes 3 years to complete.
