Master Engineering Systems: Control Systems Full-time

The program starts 1 September 2023 and 1 September 2024
Control systems are a part of everyday life. They’re used in robotic applications. In steering and tracking devices. Renewable energy installations. The list goes on. This master degree gives you the ins and outs of advanced control systems and techniques. Work anywhere in the technical sector!

Program: What do you learn?
This program is all about modeling and advanced control in industry. You learn to model and validate complex systems with multiple inputs and outputs. How? Using both white-box modelling and system identification. Then you delve into applications like robust control, optimal control and adaptive control systems. You also learn to apply practical control solutions. For instance, integrator wind-up solutions and a smith predictor.

Careers: What can you do with this master of science?
Control systems are essential in mechatronics and process manufacturing. Think of robotic applications in automation. Steering and tracking devices. High-tech temperature, pressure and volume controllers for chemical processes in industry. Or think of installations that generate sustainable energy and sustainable applications in vehicles. Control systems engineering is a diverse field. As are the job opportunities!

The Dutch way of learning : Education at HAN and in the Netherlands
The atmosphere in a Dutch classroom is quite informal and your lecturers are easy to talk to. In fact, at Dutch universities like HAN, you’re seen as a partner in the learning process. Class sizes are small and your lecturers encourage you to actively participate in class. To ask questions. To give your own opinion. They also stimulate you to be creative. And to discover things for yourself.

Part of the Master in Engineering Systems
Control Systems is a track within the Master in Engineering Systems. So when you apply on Studielink you choose Engineering Systems. Then you indicate the track you wish to follow. In this case, Control Systems. Other tracks in the Master in Engineering Systems are: Sustainable Energy, Automotive Systems and Embedded Systems.

Study in part-time?
Want to study in part-time? Follow the modules at your own pace? You can if you are from the EU/EEA or have a valid residence permit for the Netherlands. You also need to be working in the field. The part-time program takes 3 years to complete.

Why study in Holland?
