Intro program: Life Sciences
The intro for Life Sciences starts on Tuesday 23 August. It's a program packed with information, activities and games. Get to know your lecturers, classmates and fellow first year students and have lots of fun in the meantime! Will you be joining in? Find out what to expect here.
Every day starts at the introduction area, also known as camp area. You can find the area at Rijksweg 7 in Malden. Here you can register and it is the basis for all activities.
A bicycle is a must during the week, because the activities are on different sites in Nijmegen. Walking or public transport just takes too long and is sometimes simply not possible!
Times and activities are provisional. The final itinerary will be sent to all participants later.
Monday 22 August
This day is for the organising committee and for volunteers only.
Tuesday 23 August
This day is especially for first impressions: school, students and much more.
08:30 – 08:45 Arrival at the introduction terrain, sign ups and meeting with your group.
09:00 – 09:15 Welcome speech
After the welcome speech you’ll go to the HAN university where there is a separate programme for international students. The times are approximate and the activity is organisted by the HAN, be sure to arrive at the introduction terrain before 09:00!
09:15 – 14:00 Internationals programme at HAN university
14:00 – 17:00 Crazy88 in Nijmegen city centre.
A crazy game in the city centre of Nijmegen. You will join the Dutch students in the city centre after you finish the programme at the HAN university.
17:00 – 19:00 Diner
19:00 – end Party
Party at a location in Nijmegen, after which you’ll go back to the introduction terrain where the bar awaits you and the campfire burns.
Wednesday 24 August
09:00 – 11:00 Wake-up and breakfast
11:00 – 16:00 Sports day at RSC
17:00 – 19:00 Dinner
19:00 – end Pub crawl
Today we’ll go to the Radboud sports centre to see the variety of sports they offer to students.We finish with a pub crawl through the bests pubs Nijmegen has to offer. You can stay in the city centre till late, or go back to the introduction terrain with your group.
Thursday 25 August

13:00 – 14:00 Worst time of the day
14:00 – 17:00 HAN introduction market
Also organised by the HAN University, you’ll go to the introduction market organised in the centre of Nijmegen.
17:00 – 19:00 Dinner
19:00 – end Party with theme
In the morning we’ll stay at the introduction terrain and play our own version of the Olympic Games (during which you won’t have to be very sportive to win!). For lunch we have sausages, followed by... no, you have to see for yourself. A lot of singing in involved. The final night of the introduction we close of with a themed party.
Friday 26 August
09:00 – 11:00 Wake-up, cleaning of the terrain
11:00 – 14:00 Disco bowling
14:00 – 15:00 End of the intro with speech and group picture.
When everybody is on the bowling court, the organisation will bring your stuff to the HAN, where we’ll meet and close a unforgettable week.
The cost for participation are € 75. This includes breakfast, lunch and dinner, participation in the activities and sleeping at the introduction terrain. Please take into account that drinks on the terrain are sold at the bat for 1 euro each. For each group a common bill will be kept up, which at Friday will be paid at once. You’ll decide with your group how you will divide the costs among yourselves.
Medication and allergies
Do you have any specific medications or allergies? Please mention these during your online registration. If you are in doubt about anything medically related, do not hesitate to contact the organisation through firstname.lastname@example.org.
When you sign up, you are expected to participate in all activities during the introduction. In exceptional cases it is possible to skip part of the program, for example if you have an exam for your drivers licence. Please contact the organisation at email@example.com, give your name, whether or not you already registered, and what time you’ll be absent. It is not possible to reduce costs of participation when you are not present at all activities.

Pay attention: this program is only for students Chemistry and Life Science, who do not speak Dutch fluently. When signing up for this introduction, you’ll follow the exact same program as Dutch students, but for international students there is an extra program organised by the HAN. Also group division during the introduction is not based on class or study.
Your participation is final the moment the registration fee is received by the organisation. In the beginning of August (at the latest) you’ll receive all information, including the exact schedule, where you are expected and what to bring.
Both Dutch and international students follow the exact same introduction, and group division is not based on class or study. However, international students have an extra introduction organised by the HAN. Non-Dutch speaking students who sign up through this 'Chemie, BML en Bio-informatica' program will not be able to register on the first day of the introduction.
Let op: Ga jij studeren aan de Engelstalige opleiding Chemistry of Life Sciences, maar spreek je vloeiend Nederlands? Meld je dan aan voor de Nederlandstalige versie 'Chemie, BML en Bio-informatica'.
If for any reason you can not participate in the introduction, please cancel your participation as soon as possible though firstname.lastname@example.org. Please clearly note in the subject 'cancelation introduction', followed by your name, and a way to contact you. Please also make sure to check the cancelation fees.
Study association 't Reactievat
’t Reactievat is the official study association of all educations within our academy and is responsible for the organisation of the introduction week. Besides the introduction, we organise informal drinks every month, the craziest parties such as the yearly prom and the famous (and infamous) Slet of bezet, and the past year the study trip to Budapest. Next to these festivities, events such as symposia and visits to education related companies are also in our portfolio.
